All in all its well worth taking a walk around the park and enjoying the historic buildings in the village.
If you're really into trains don't bother with the train ride. If you want to take the kids for a slow safe ride around the park then by all means this is the place to go. The train is pulled by a small diesel yard switcher. It pulls an open flatbed with bench seats and a somewhat historic caboose from the Jersey Central line.
Nice path for walking, biking or horseback riding. The village, which is maintained separately from the state park had some original buildings from the iron works period including a bakery, blacksmith and church. The stack from the old iron furnace still stands as does the old house.
Really cool historic village. There is a train that run through part of the park and some cool trails to walk along.
Excellent viewing of living history. People manage to stay in character, even when you try to speak to them socially. The 19th century wedding is something to behold.
Just beautiful area with historical era buildings
